Survey question

OK. It comes to my attention that other than bombarding you all with trivia, it has been far too long since I quizzed you. So here's a simple opinion survey.
What is your impression: Is the United States government supportive of the Israelis?
Second part: Do Israelis believe that the United States Government is supportive of the Israelis?

  1. My answers are:

    1. Yes, the U.S. is very supportive of Israel.
    2. No, the Israelis do not feel we support them. The Israelis are very concerned about what the US might force the Israelis to give away to the Palestinians, whether or not we will stand up to a nuclear Iran, whether or not we will give them the ability to fight Hezbollah, etc. Remember, it was President Clinton who, as part of yet another (abortive) peace initiative, forced Israel (much against its protestations and reluctance) to free the jailed prisoner Mohammed Atta, who had previously blown up a bus in Israel. It was the same Mohammed Atta who later flew a jet into a World Trade Tower in New York. The Israelis don't believe, in their hearts, that the US has any understanding of the Palestinians, the precarious Israeli position, etc., and will continue to force the Israelis to do things against their own better judgment in the future as part of a US-led foreign policy initiative.

    Am I correct?
